I’m a former political researcher turned writer and digital marketer! A strange combination, perhaps, but there it is.
Passionate about digital communication, I’ve been engaging in digital content creation for the last two and a half years. While based abroad in Europe, I undertook a communications internship with the European Union and also had an exciting role as Content Manager for award-winning travel startup, GoCambio. It was at the latter where I honed my skills at SEO optimisation and content creation in the travel industry.
In October 2016, I was fortunate enough to win a Europe-wide blogging competition and was flown to Brussels as a fully accredited journalist to cover the European Week of Regions and Cities. My blogs on this event, which focused on the role of storytelling and women’s empowerment, were published by the European Commission and shared widely on social media, and my experience here was the catalyst that led me to move to New Zealand and pursue writing full time.
It’s through my living experiences and extensive travels abroad that I have such an appreciation for places, people and different cultures. This passion for travel has seeped into my writing – in my freelance pieces for independent travel guides such as Routes North and my personal travel blog Researcher Gone Rogue.
I currently work at a content marketing agency crafting digital content for Kiwi, Australian and global companies in a variety of industries. In my spare time, I like to get outdoors and explore New Zealand – mainly on foot in my trusty hiking boots.
You can take a look at my portfolio of published print and online articles for examples of my writing. If you’d like to have a conversation about my writing and how we can work together, use the contact form on this website to get in touch.
